Dr Nathan El-Atem is a highly skilled Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon, with advanced training in both dentistry and medicine. Dr El-Atem’s expertise encompasses wisdom tooth extraction, dental implants, bone grafts, orthognathic surgery, surgery for obstructive sleep apnoea, temporomandibular joint disorders and oral surgery.
Dr Nathan El-Atem holds a Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc) and a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) both from the University of Queensland, along with a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from Queensland University of Technology. Dr El-Atem has had experience working in surgical teams throughout Australia. He started his career in Queensland, working for several years at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. He then moved to Melbourne to undertake his formal surgical specialty training at institutions including Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital, Austin Hospital, Monash Health and the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. After obtaining his specialist surgical qualifications, Dr El-Atem decided to pursue further surgical training at the Royal Hobart Hospital in the fields of orthognathic surgery and temporomandibular joint surgery during a KLS Martin fellowship.

Nathan recently moved back to Queensland to be closer to family and friends. Nathan is happy to see new patients for the full range of oral and maxillofacial services and is available with short waiting times.
